Terms and Conditions

Booking Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 2026

These Booking Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings made with Hosted Lagos. Please read them carefully before making a booking.

1. Who we are

Hosted Lagos provides small, personally hosted visits to Lagos, Nigeria, including accommodation, meals, local transport, guiding, excursions and activities.

Hosted Lagos is operated by Hosted Lagos Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15694708  whose registered office is Unit 14, 2 Amelia Street, London, SE17 3PY

In these terms, “Hosted Lagos”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Hosted Lagos Ltd. “You” and “guest” refer to the person making the booking and anyone included in that booking.

2. Your booking

A booking is made when:

  1. you submit your booking;
  2. we confirm that your requested dates are available;
  3. you pay the required deposit; and
  4. we issue written confirmation of your booking.

The person making the booking must be at least 18 years old and is responsible for ensuring that everyone included in the booking has read and accepted these terms.

3. What is included

Unless otherwise stated in your booking confirmation, your Hosted Lagos experience includes:

  • accommodation for the number of nights specified;
  • meals as described in your itinerary;
  • local transport during your stay;
  • a private driver where specified;
  • dedicated local guides;
  • excursions and activities included in your itinerary; and
  • reasonable assistance with arrangements for your visit.

Your individual booking confirmation and itinerary will set out exactly what is included in your trip.

4. What is not included

Unless expressly stated otherwise, the price does not include:

  • international or domestic flights;
  • travel insurance;
  • passport costs;
  • visa and immigration fees;
  • vaccinations, medication or other medical expenses;
  • alcoholic drinks;
  • personal expenditure;
  • optional activities not included in your itinerary; or
  • tips and gratuities.

You are responsible for arranging your own flights to and from Lagos.

5. Prices and payment

The price shown on your booking confirmation is the total price payable to Hosted Lagos for the services specified.

A £500 per person deposit is required to secure your booking.

The balance must be paid no later than 60 days before your arrival date.

Bookings made within 60 days of arrival must be paid in full at the time of booking.

If payment is not received by the due date, we may treat your booking as cancelled after giving you reasonable notice.

6. Cancellation by you

You may cancel your booking at any time by notifying us in writing.

Our standard maximum cancellation charges are:

  • more than 90 days before arrival – £500 deposit;
  • 61–90 days before arrival – 25% of the total booking price;
  • 31–60 days before arrival – 50% of the total booking price; and
  • 30 days or fewer before arrival – 100% of the total booking price.

Cancellation charges will reflect the costs and losses we reasonably incur as a result of your cancellation. Where our actual unrecoverable costs are lower than the standard cancellation charge, we will reduce the charge accordingly.

Any refund due will be made to the original payment method.

7. Changing your dates

We understand that circumstances change and would normally prefer to move your booking rather than cancel it.

Provided you contact us at least 60 days before arrival, you may normally transfer your booking once to another available date without an administration charge.

You will be responsible for any additional costs resulting from the change.

Changes requested within 60 days of arrival will depend on our ability to change or cancel arrangements already made on your behalf.

8. Cancellation or significant changes by us

Occasionally we may need to change an itinerary because of circumstances outside our control, local conditions, availability or safety considerations.

Minor changes to the order or precise nature of activities do not normally constitute a significant change to your booking.

If we have to make a significant change to an essential part of your trip before departure, we will tell you as soon as reasonably possible and explain your options.

If we cancel your trip before departure, you will normally be offered either:

  • an alternative Hosted Lagos date acceptable to you; or
  • a full refund of payments made to us.

Where you are legally entitled to a refund following cancellation by us, this will be made within 14 days.

9. Unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances

Events can occur which are outside our reasonable control, including serious security incidents, natural disasters, epidemics, government action, significant civil disturbance or other circumstances which could not reasonably have been avoided.

Where unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances significantly affect the performance of your trip or your travel to Lagos, your rights will be determined in accordance with applicable UK package travel law.

Nothing in these terms limits any statutory right you may have to cancel without charge and receive a refund in such circumstances.

10. Passports, visas and entry requirements

You are responsible for ensuring that you hold a valid passport and meet all applicable entry, immigration and health requirements for Nigeria.

We may provide information and assistance with the Nigerian visa process, but unless expressly agreed otherwise, responsibility for obtaining permission to enter Nigeria remains with you.

We cannot guarantee that a visa or other entry permission will be granted.

If you are unable to travel because you have failed to obtain the necessary passport, visa or other documentation, our normal cancellation terms will apply.

11. Travel insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of booking.

You must have adequate insurance covering, as appropriate:

  • medical treatment;
  • emergency evacuation and repatriation;
  • cancellation and curtailment;
  • personal belongings;
  • the activities included in your itinerary; and
  • travel to Nigeria.

We strongly recommend purchasing your insurance as soon as your booking is confirmed.

You may be asked to provide evidence of adequate insurance before travelling.

12. Health and fitness

You are responsible for ensuring that you are sufficiently fit and healthy to participate in the activities you choose to undertake.

You should seek appropriate professional medical advice regarding vaccinations, malaria prevention and other health precautions for Nigeria.

Please tell us before travelling about any mobility requirements, dietary requirements, allergies or other needs that could materially affect the arrangements we make for you.

We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate individual requirements but cannot guarantee that every requirement can be met.

13. Safety and local conditions

Lagos is a large and dynamic city and travelling in Nigeria may involve conditions and risks different from those you encounter at home.

We design our itineraries using local knowledge and take reasonable precautions for our guests’ safety.

Guests are expected to follow reasonable safety instructions given by Hosted Lagos, our guides or drivers.

You remain responsible for your own decisions and conduct. If you choose to leave the agreed itinerary, use alternative transport, visit locations independently or undertake activities that we have advised against, you do so at your own risk.

14. Conduct

Hosted Lagos is intended to provide a relaxed, welcoming and respectful environment for guests, hosts, staff and local communities.

We reserve the right to terminate a guest’s participation where their behaviour is threatening, abusive, discriminatory, seriously disruptive, illegal or creates an unreasonable risk to themselves or others.

Where we reasonably terminate a guest’s participation for serious misconduct, we will not normally be responsible for additional accommodation, transport or travel costs arising from that decision.

15. Activities and itinerary

Lagos is unpredictable — and that is part of its appeal.

Traffic, weather, opening hours, local events, security considerations and other circumstances may mean that activities need to be rearranged or substituted.

Your itinerary should therefore be regarded as the experience we intend to provide rather than a guarantee that every activity will take place at a particular time or in a particular order.

Where an advertised activity becomes unavailable, we will make reasonable efforts to provide a suitable alternative of comparable quality.

16. Third-party suppliers

Some elements of your experience may be provided by independent suppliers, including resorts, restaurants, activity providers and transport providers.

Where Hosted Lagos is the organiser of your package, our use of third-party suppliers does not remove any responsibility we have to you under applicable package travel legislation.

17. Problems during your stay

If you experience a problem during your visit, please tell your host or guide as soon as possible.

We want the opportunity to resolve problems while you are in Lagos rather than discovering after you return home that something could have been easily fixed.

We will provide an emergency contact number for use during your stay.

18. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for providing the services included in your booking with reasonable care and skill and, where applicable, in accordance with our obligations under the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

We are not responsible for losses resulting from circumstances wholly outside our control except where applicable law provides otherwise.

19. Flights and independent arrangements

Flights are not sold or arranged by Hosted Lagos and do not form part of your booking with us.

We may recommend suitable flights or airlines for convenience, but you enter into the contract for your flight directly with the airline or travel provider.

We recommend that you do not purchase non-refundable flights until we have confirmed your Hosted Lagos booking.

20. Photography and privacy

We will respect your privacy.

We will not use identifiable photographs or video of you for advertising, social media or promotional purposes without your permission.

You should also respect the privacy of other guests, staff and people you meet during your visit.

21. Personal information

We will use the personal information you provide to administer your booking, provide your trip and meet our legal obligations.

Where necessary, relevant information may be shared with hotels, guides, transport providers, immigration advisers or other suppliers involved in delivering your booking.

Our Privacy Policy explains in more detail how we process personal information.

22. Complaints

If something goes wrong during your stay, please tell us immediately so that we have a reasonable opportunity to put it right.

If the issue is not resolved, please contact us in writing at marcus@hostedlagos.com

We will acknowledge and investigate complaints promptly and fairly.

23. Financial protection

Payments made for your Hosted Lagos package are protected in accordance with the insolvency protection requirements applicable under the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018.

Hosted Lagos does not sell or include flights and is therefore not an ATOL-protected flight package.

24. Governing law

These Booking Terms & Conditions and your booking are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also have rights to bring proceedings in the courts applicable to your place of residence.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
